SUMMARY
The backless chair was designed in effort to express simplicity and elegance while expanding on personal woodworking techniques. The aim was to urge the finger joint, and its characteristic features, but to also provide a building process with new learning opportunities.
Elegance can be found in the refined relationship of the profile and the proportions. Simplicity is given from the extensive surfaces which allow room for expression of the natural characteristics of birch, the material it is built of.
